King pin lock

As you can see by the replies, answers are both pro and con. But if ya want to get one and get a good one, look into what semi trailers use. My $.02.

I can't see a lock stopping a 5th wheel thief. If you are brazen enough to steal someone's 5th wheel. You will have no problem using a battery powered angle grinder to cut off any lock you may encounter.

We have one and normally only use it when in long time winter storage.

Our first 5th wheel came with one...never bothered to use it.

Pretty much every 1/2ton or larger truck comes with a receiver hitch that can move a travel trailer with just a $25 ball (may not tow well but it can be done). Makes it very easy for thieves wanting to get into the game.

Most trucks need to be set up for a 5th wheel hitch at significant cost. Then they need a 5th wheel hitch which starts at around $500. Unless they are specializing in stealing 5th wheels, it's just not worth the hassle.

Driving around my area there are five fifth wheels. None were locked last year Yesterday they all had locks on them. These are ones sitting in someones yard or drive way, I saw one 2 weekends go at a county park. This the one that started me thinking about getting a lock.

I'd think that if the thieves came equipped with a truck outfitted with a fifth wheel hitch, then they probably are coming for your RV specifically and will bring along an angle grinder to cut the lock off.

Never, just one more thing to try and keep track of.

Never have on three 5th's. Store ours here at home behind the house.

I always used one while in storage. But never in an RV park or campground. But there had never been any reports of any units stolen out of storage where mine was.
