Used the nut to tighten the filter, EXACTLY COUNTER TO WHAT I STATED IN MY LAST POST (BEFORE YOURS) Honda has no specified torque value for tightening an oil filter and I ought to know, I deal with bikes everyday. Why no torque value? because the gasket is compressable. You cannot have a prevailing torque value with a compressable gasket. Don't work that way, never has, never will.
1/2 turn past the gasket contacting the filter base.
If you note, the case in the picture is also deformed, probably from cranking on the nut, or should I say the 'nut cranking on the nut.
Still not a viable substantiated link but rather someone's ill fortune by their own hand.
