I had a ton of problems on my truck after using one. I think the oil coats some of the engine's inlet sensors and knocked my MPG down.

I think you're talking about the air filter and he is talking about the oil filter. There are problems if you overoil the air filters, as was mentioned before. After examining the air filter on my Cummins I went to a BHAF, Big Honkin' Air Filter, as the creases of the K&N seemed to trap a lot of gook even though it was cleaned pretty frequently. I think the diesels just process too much air.
