That's crazy; "I" am not the engineer or the company that came up with this poor choice of material. Since when do the buyers have the responsibility of re engineering flaws. Having said that, I know it's done all the time, I did it to my ladder supports, but Atwood is ultimately responsible and liable for this problem. The fact that the problem has been around for a long time just makes this more frustrating for the consumer. If folks don't point out problems and keep pushing for improvement, the manufacturers will never improve the product.
