I had to do NO welding when I installed my Bulldog gear. I didn't have any fitment issues with the motors either. There was a tube that was for storing the "high pressure" hose that I just ended up removing since I rarely used that hose anyway. The only real fitment problem I had was the original switch plate location had to be enlarged, and when I put the dual switches in, they are right up against the frame. I plan on making a spacer that will pull the switches out a bit.
Now that I have had the landing gear on for awhile I am so glad I did it. No more worries whether it will fail. These Bulldog units are fantastic. Oh, and by the way, I found my landing gear for sub $600. I think it was through Amazon to be quite honest. We are Prime members and I got free shipping which saved a bunch of money because the package is very heavy. Let me know if you have any more questions.
