Landing gear lubrication
Is it necessary to lubricate the gears in the front landing gear of 5th wheels? And if so how as the units all seem to be sealed.....

Lots of landing leg experience here. Once understood they are simple beasts. Greasing the bevel gear is easy. Pop off the cap & work a dollop of grease in there.
If you don't already carry one, a spare bevel gear kit is well worth keeping onboard, along with a bottle jack & lumber to support the trailer if simply being on the truck is not high enough to remove the leg.
Dealing with the bevel gear replacement is much easier with the leg removed.
