One of those electric 1500PSI pressure washers are relatively harmless. Mostly useless too. Best thing is a bucket of soapy water & a brush.

If you want to risk damage to decals, use a 3000PSI or 5000PSI washer. Do all kinds of damage in seconds in the wrong hands.

The only risk is peeling off decals as I see it. And obviously stay away from seams with any strong water pressure.

The cleaners that work well to remove bugs are more than likely going to strip the wax off too. Less wax, more stubborn the bugs, the more cleaner, less wax left on, the cycle gets worse.

Use a good wax then wash with a non wax stripping soap & water.

Bottom line, there is no easy way to deal with bugs on the front cap though washing them off before they bake on real good helps.

I have a wash mit where one side is soft wool material and the other side is a fabric mesh. The fabric mesh side does a great job of scraping the bugs off. Something like this: http://www.freewtc.com/buy-2-in-1-synthetic-wool-wash-mitt-35826/

I agree don't use anything that will remove wax as you'll have to re-apply much sooner.

The above is a good recommendation on products to use to restore your finish.... The absolute best I've found to 'keep' your shine 'and' make it easier to remove the bugs is a product called Rejex... I was skeptical for a couple years, then I was given a bottle... Applied to front and rear cap, and one side, then had to order more. Works better than any wax I've ever tried, and I've tried most of the good ones, but ReJex tops all of the wax jobs... Check it out HERE

I also found the dryer sheets to not be very effective. Still looking for the substitute for elbow grease. Haven't found it yet....

We also remove the bugs after every travel day. We just use our long handled brush and a small bucket of warm water. Tried the dryer sheets once but did not like the residue it left behind. Took longer to get that residue off than it did the bugs,

I always make washing the bugs from the front cap as part of my setup procedures. Even love bugs will come off if you soften them up with water and then a scrub brush. Takes around 15 minutes. Simple Green is a great cleaner but will take the wax off. The ideal situation is a heavy rain storm around 15 miles from your stop that stops as you pull into the cg. Most all bugs come off between the rain and the air hitting the front of the cap.
