Since I was having issues when the slide was closed, it was put on the wall for the slide to seal to when open. You could do the same on the outside, I'm sure. You also might want to check your seals for cracks or the off-chance that one might have "flipped" the wrong way. I've seen that happen once or twice. Might also think about some dry lube. Again, make sure all windows and vents are tight; a 1/4" gap can let in a lot of dust!
