OK, I might as well say it as it's so true. Anyone notice the Arctic Fox/Northwood cheering bandwagon is from those on the West Coast as that's where they are made and mostly sold. The dealers in the south, midwest, and east coast have had a hard time selling many of them as they are overpriced compared to their competition by a lot. So few of Northwood RV's are ever seen on the road or in CG's east of the Rockies. Also the rest of the country sure doesn't think Northwood RV's are that high in quality or great or they sure would be buying a lot more of them and they do not! Surely is a regional west of the Rockies thing! Maybe some day the west coasters will cross the Rockies and see the major part of the USA and what RVing people prefer!
Northwood is a tiny RV manufacturer compared to the Northern Indiana RV Manufacturers alone. Example: Northwood employs 235, in Indiana, Jayco employs 1,700, Forest River employs 5,400, Thor/Keystone employs 9,100. Just a small sampling of the gobs of manufacturers in Indiana alone. Then there's Kansas area manufacturers and the Iowa manufacturers - Winnebago group etc, Alabama with the Allegro group and many other states where RV's are made. Heck, even Lance RV in California employs over 400 to only make their highly automated CAD CAM precision cut and machined non-labor intensive truck campers and small travel trailers. Northwood spreads out it's 235 employees to make 6 different RV lines including truck campers, travel trailers, toy haulers, and 5th wheels including the frames. Kind of tells you how few they make per year.
I'm happy that the west coast people are happy with their Norhtwood RV's but that sure doesn't make them the best choice of fine to excellent quality in the huge industry and the buying public knows why and votes with their wallets!
Personally, I think Northwood make a decent RV but far from the best and with close inspection under the glitz and glamour/skin, the facts show up clearly as has been written in many posts on this forum and others.
