I have been to 3 different dealers selling 3 different brands of TT's in the last few weeks and everyone of them bashes the other TT brand. As soon as I bring up that I have been looking at xyz brand, right on cue that dealer starts in on the bad mouthing! It's almost comical, but if there are any dealers/sales reps on this forum, I can tell you it gets old quick and you are not doing yourself any favors. And for newbies that are looking at campers all it does is confuse us even more on what brand to buy.Sorry for the rant!

Isn't trashing the competitor's brand part of the definition of the word, "salesman"?

Don't tell them you're looking at other brands.

A good sales person will stress the advantages of his product over the competition but not disparage the competition.

Just like in politics. Don't tell us what you can do, tear down the opponet.

The posters on open roads forum do more brand bashing than any salesman I ever met. From RV's to trucks they will badmouth anything.

Went next door to another dealer and bought a car.
Then I drove on to the first dealers lot....honked my horn. When the salesman walked out I waved and asked "How do you like my new car?"

I hate salesman that are arrogant, slick and reek of stupid!

The dealer I went to has been in business a very long time. He tells you why he prefers the brands he sells.

He would be foolish to run down the other brands when he has a lot full of them as trade-ins.

I have been in the auto business for 25 years and never bashed. When I was shopping for our TT one person did this about the dealer we were working with telling us he was going out of business and had money problems(I already knew that he was having a rough time, but made it through the hard times he told me himself). The next day I bought from him and hes having a great year so far.

I am very happy I found this forum not only for the advice from more experienced campers on the ins/outs of camping, but also because I have done quite a bit of research on a camper that I want to buy and I can get opinions from people who love them and people who hate them. I would rather hear the good and bad instead of just the bad from a competing brand.

After I bashing, we should tell the salesman, I wish you had told me about your product instead of bashing the other but I am out of time so I will shop elsewhere.

Everyone has brands they like and those that they don't. If someone just bought something that I don't like I generally stay away from the post. No matter what someone buys, they should be excited about it and hopefully all will work out and they will love it.

Although I feel perfectly justified in bashing my current RV (Keystone Cougar) since I'm the one that had to suffer with it. But that will end on Monday.

Must be a bunch of "salespeople" that post on this forum. Everytime someone mentions a brand name, everyone jumps in to bash that product.
