"Where the Fox Mountain is considered a "Snowbirder" (ideal living conditions for at least six months out of the year), the Jayco Eagles are rated a "vacationing" (ideal for 2 days up to 2 weeks at a time for a total of 60 days a year). The Northwood products are great products and well built.. We had a subscription to RV consumers when we first started to look for a 5th wheel and did not agree with just about any of the ratings. We have been on the road for 7 years and we see people full timing and long timing in every brand and price range of RV. We have a Montana and live in it 6 months of every winter. The people across the street have a Forest River product and do the same yet they are not suitable for that kind of use...Bull Crap.
If you are doing a lot of cold weather camping the Artic Fox is a good choice we camp in moderate weather ..why spend that money on something we never use.
I say again. Determine what your budget can afford, determine how you will use the unit the majority of the time. Determine what you need in terms of a floor plan. Don't forget what your truck can pull or how much of a truck you can afford. You have now narrowed your choices down to the units and brands you can purchase. Look them over and purchase the best one in your opinion.
