Leaving roof vents with covers open for winter??

I wouldn't leave them open unless I had Maxair covers over them. Otherwise rain water will find its way in. Has happened to me before... Assuming the trailer has no water leaks what moisture would you be reducing by leaving them open? If anything I think you would be inducing moisture into the trailer rather than reducing.
