For whatever reason, the technician doing our walk through suggested that we stay on manual rather than using the auto re-hitch feature. We have followed his suggestion since owning the trailer, so the sequence is 1) retract rear jacks fully then 2) raise front jacks to estimated height to re-hitch. On our Pullrite Superglide, I think the height to re-hitch is a little lower than the unlock/unhitch height since the kingpin needs to "ride up" on the hitch plate to properly contact and trip the trigger on the pin jaw. May not be right for everyone, but it has worked well for us.
