Hi guys, we are considering a 5th wheel (getting near retirement). We are buying a F150 ecoboost for this purpose, I looked at diesels, too expensive and not real "in town" friendly. Sooo.. the ecoboost is the truck of choice. What would be some good choices for a 8-9000, pound 5th wheel? We would be camping the in cool temperatures sometimes too, so that has to be a consideration. Any advice? Thanks!
I hope you're getting the heaviest-duty F150 they offer, with all the tow/payload options. You'll need it for all but the lightest FW's. It's not what you can =tow=, it's what you can =carry=, which includes the hitch, fuel, people and "stuff" BEFORE you add the FW to the mix. If you're going to be a weekend warrior and use the truck as a daily, or frequent, driver, think about a gas F250. You'll be much happier, IMO.
