Glad to hear it was successful.

Well it warmed up enough for me to get back in the camper and try that light again. It was pretty warm inside and that may have helped but I got the whole glass dome to turn a bit and finally got it off. It has LEDs so all is well and I am happy now. Best of all no breakage. (-:

Keep us posted as to how you got it off when you do...preferably not with a sledge hammer. Good luck.

Thanks 94... I hadn't thought of that. I'll keep trying I'm just trying to see if that is an LED bulb or not. But I still want to be able to get in there. BTW an interesting discovery I made was on the celling fan bulb globes had rubber bands around them where they mount to the fixture. I wonder if that was factory to keep them from vibrating loose or ... dealer / last owner / ...? seems like a good idea in any event...

I seem to recall having to put some upward force on the dome which releases enough pressure on the bottom cap to get it unscrewed. Otherwise use some sort of thin rubber (like a jar cap grip) to assist or put between some goose neck pliers. A strap type wrench might also work without maring up the nut cap.

That was my first try, but it is ether so tight or loctite on that it won't come off with easy attempts. I may have to use pliers but I really don't want to leave marks and it is rounded enough to not let me use my pliers with plastic guards.

Did you try twisting the silver object at the bottom of the light?

I haven't been able to get them off yet. Here is a pic... It "may" have an LED in it now, I just can't tell at the moment.

We replaced our bulbs with LED's this summer in our FR. On our covers you have to push them back a little before you pull the cover off.
