My good friend just picked up his VRV Living Lite 22 Toy Hauler. Here's a quote from their web page: "Featuring QUICKSILVER's famous ALL-ALUMINUM construction, the VRV is built to stand the test of time while offering the lightest trailers on the market. Unlike other cargo trailers, which are built using steel and plywood (which rusts and rots) - the VRV offers the ultimate in lightweight versatility,"
Where do I start,
1 -They missed his mid April Delivery date. That screwed up his vacation time.
Time of pick up
2- Suppose to come with dual battery option, only had one battery
3 - Wired and mount for TV, No TV Mount
4 - His wheels are 6 lug, Spare sent is 5 lug
At the dealership they
Went and bought a TV mount and added a second battery in storage area. He had to put up a huge fight to get this done.
He brings it home and finds
5 - Two scratches on cabinets, One on Fridge door, one on ceiling
6 - Door Latches mounted crocked
7 - Aluminum Helmet Rack Weld looked like a 2 year old welded it. Some seams are completely missed.
8 - The TV mount is mount backwards, meaning the TV Visa mount is attached to the wall.
9 - NO front Scissor jacks Zippo nota nothing
10 - Outside door latches for tilt out beds are heavy duty, the ramp door latches are different smaller and cheaper.
11 - He brings it home 1st night goes out to have a beer in it, It's raining the rear passenger side is leaking like a sieve. 1 foot wide steam of water running down the wall.
He calls VRV Factory and dealership on Monday, needs the correct spare and scissor lifts shipped to him by Thursday so he can mount and leave for ATV trip on Friday. Never gets it by Friday.
He finally get front jacks and spare shipped to him, the front jacks are the bottle jacks they use on pop up campers. He calls complains that he feels a 22' camper should have scissor jacks. Big argument.
Week later takes the camper back to dealership, they fix scratches, leveled latches, mounted second battery correctly, fixed leak re-weld helmet rack. Gave him scissor jacks and told him it's his problem to figure out how to mount them. His spare tire is not the same diameter of the tire on the trailer ( I think this would be a safety issue), VRV tells him they can't find the same tire. Dealership tells him to find the tire get it mounted and send them the bill. He brings it home it raining and the rear ramp is complete leaking water on the inside.
Sorry for the rant but I want people to know. He spent big bucks 27,000 for what he thought was top of the line light Toy Hauler. VRV craftsmanship and customer service is horrible. Sucks to say it was made in the USA. Where the USA pride? Please warn anyone thinking about buying one.
