My suggestion is that you try it at home. Have a metal and perhaps a wooden coat hanger that will help you escape. You might need to go so far as shopping at the hardware store and looking for something that will slide through the door that is opened say 1/4" and then hook onto the arm, lift it by 1/2" and then pushing on the door will cause it to swing around to the open position.
Try it with two adults - one inside one outside. Just not directly after an argument with the other, or you might suffer a "Cooling off" period inside the RV for a hour or so! LOL.
You might need to buy some 1/4" thick aluminum that is 2" wide (to be stiff enough) and fashion a escape handle out of this. Just be sure to store it where you remember it is, not in the outside storage!
