I have to be quite honest, I have never ever thought about this before. I will say that if one had a fire, and the handle was across the door and would not budge, you could always break the entrance door window and reach out and swing it out of the way. Other than a full blown emergency where one has to get out at once it doesn't seem to be that big of a problem.
One more thought on using emergency exits. Our trailer as I am sure most do has an emergency exit in the bedroom. It is a long drop from that bedroom window to the ground for a forty year old much less a seventy year old as many of us are. I took an eight foot fall last year and broke the ball off my right femur that goes into the hip socket, its probably just about that far from the bedroom window. I am procrastinating about storing a rope in the bedroom chest of drawers and some inconspicuous way of tying it off so I could at least slide down the rope if I had to.
