Long Box--Short Box?

I have a crew cab long box and I can see the hitch just fine. If I couldn't, I'd still go with long box and just put one on those mirrors on there.

Just get a 13 RAM they have a backup camera mounted up by the cargo light for hooking up 5er's or just to see the bed.

Along with the camera you get a terrific truck.

And to boot you do not get the fragile Bosch CP4.2 injection pump with the Dodge, that both GM and Ford are using. Chris

I have seen some 5th wheels with mirrors which would not be hard for you to glue on to your rig. I have a long bed crew cab and I can not see the hitch but I have no trouble hooking up by myself although I need to get out of the truck a few times. I keep a broom in my camper to sweep up, it serves a dual function when backing up I stick the broom into the hitch and that helps me line up the pin with the hitch.

I can't see the hitch or pin on mine and don't care. Between the crew cab and the toolbox they're not visible. If I center the neck of the trailer in the rear sliding window I'm lined up with the hitch, side to side. All I worry about is the height of the trailer. Back up till I'm close, get out and eyeball the height and back on in. That rear window is good for more than air circulation.... GRIN

The reg bed in the Ford is 6'-9". The tank size in the Reg bed is 26 gallons. My crew cab, I can see the pin, if I fold down the back of the rear seat.

I have and still do own both, I prefer the Short Bed.

I have owned both short and long box. Now have a 2012 Crew cap short box. Will never even consider going back to a long box. That is a personal preference, so let the OP decide that. Also he may be like me and never need a slider.

Now back to the op :S I have a 2WD 2012 F250 crew cab short box. I took both center head rests out. Still have A hard time with my crikety neck getting high enough to see the hitch. I think with another year's practice I will have it. :h

have owned both, My preference is a long bed crewcab singe wheel, I kept the slider hitch from My short box truck. with the slider in the bed,I can move it to the back manover position and it backs up much better almost like a short box truck.then slide it forward for the highway towing.
