Lube plates

How many of us have had hitching issues using lube plates? The thickness of mine causes a problem.

  • No problem with our Trailair Tri-Glide pinbox and B&W Companion 3500 hitch, nor with the Demco GlideRide pinbox and B&W Companion 3000 hitch on our previous 5th wheel.

  • Never had a problem with mine. I currently have a Fifth Airborne pin box and a B & W hitch.. What sort of hitch are you using?
  • x2

Reese Sidewinder (pinned/wedge removed) and Reese R16 hitch. Hitch jaws catch king pin at the lowest point they can. Thickness of the lube plate lifts the king pin just enough where I don't get a complete and secure hitching.

Lube plate I tried was from eTrailer.Com. I called their tech support, was told the thickness, wrote it down but can't find it at the moment (and lube plate is in storage compartment of trailer ... in storage!).
  • Did not with my previous Pullrite Super5th and do not with my current Reese Elite.
