Maceraor pump built in Question

Have a question on a built in macerator. Never had one before and our new 5er will have one on when it arrives. Trying to figure what I need that I don't already have before we take delivery next month.
So question is do we need a special sewer hose or can we use the standard 3 inch sewer hose?
  • If coming from the factory, you should not need a hose. We just took delivery of our new trailer and it has the Sanicon Turbo 500 Macerator on it which included the hoes and handle.

We are still going to still carry the gravity hose ‘just in case’ the macerator fails. It’s not much weight and there is plenty of room in the garage.

Great thanks, ours in coming from factory as well. So I will get a new 3 inch gravity hose just in case.
  • I assume that they will be shipping it with a small 1 inch or so hose standard. as said might want to get a stinky slinky and fittings for JIC. I assume you can get at the parts/area to hook up a slinky????

  • I carry a couple lengths of 3/4" black hose that I use to empty the tanks. Get online or to Camping World and get a screw in sewer connection that you can connect your 3/4" hose to at the campground to make an airtight connection. Overall, the macerator is a great setup once you get all the parts and get familiar with it. Plus, as an added bonus, you always have a spare water hose to use in a pinch ;)
  • just be sure that people don't throw "STUFF" in the toilet that can't be chewed up by the macerator.

  • Also, when you get the unit, look in the hose compartment for sharp objects. Don’t want that hose getting cut. When we did our PDI, I looked in the box and saw a self tapping screw that holds the side skirt on sticking up about an inch into the compartment. Our tech was god and cut it down so not to damage the hose.
