Major Advice Needed ASAP.

Alright people, I need some advice. This is long.
I currently tow a Grand Design 303 RLS with a 2014 F250 Crew Cab Diesel 4x4. The truck squats with the pin loaded and I added air bags to level it out. The ground to bed height rail height unloaded is 56.5"+/-, while the ground to overhang level on the 5er is 59". After using the bags, I'll level out and have about 8" between 5ver and top of bed.

Well, the truck is now a lemon and I have the opportunity to step up to a 2015 F350 Crew Cab Diesel FX4. The unloaded ground to bed height measurement is 59+/- inches. With all else being the same, the 5ver unhooked and level, and the truck unloaded are pretty much identical heights from the ground.

I currently use a 16kw husky slider with aftermarket bed rails. The head is mounted at its lowest setting. I'd love the hitch and would continue to use it but would after go use the Reese 30156 adapter since the F350 is factory prepped. How much will the F350 squat with +/- 2200# of pin weight?

Will the combo still work, or do I stay with a 250? We will upgrade one day to a full size 5er, but it's only 8 months old. If I get the one ton now, I'll be prepared.

    My thoughts based on what I read here and observe elsewhere.
    4x4 trucks sit higher than 2 wheel drives by a fair bit. So if you don't want to raise the trailer don't buy another 4x4 as the new 4x4s are simply too high. I had to raise my new mobile suite 2 inches and 3 may have been better but everyone was concerned about the overall height and the steps. The trailer manufacturers I blame for not keeping in tune with the truck manufacturers. If they built them with the riser it would be simple and free to adjust the hitch and or pin box for the lower 2 wheel drives or lower older trucks.
    Possibly the trailer manufacturers look at purposely as a money maker to do the lift later.

    I have been looking at the B&W that goes onto the rails installed in my truck now. Best hitch around.

    Wow! I can't believe you guys dug this thread up! I did go into an F350. I also got the 5er raised approx. 3.5 inches to give me a perfectly level ride with 8" of clearance using a B@W Companion with the factory puck system. The new truck is awesome. I am very glad I went into the 1ton and putting the subframe lift on the 5er was no biggie. I found a welding shop that specializes in subframe lifts among other things and they did the entire job for 700.00!

    Lemon or Lime, all brands have an issue now and then. Yes you can evoke the lemon law, but as you stated be ready for a long process without a truck probably, if you can get a dealere that can get you out of it and into a better truck then that is what I would go with myself, also I would suggest going to the 350 and keep the air bags off the 250. I carry 2850# on my hitch and would not take for my bags. Just my $.02 as a dedicated blue oval operator.

    Do the F-350's still have 4" blocks vs the 2" F-250 blocks? If that's the case, you could drop the back end a little just by swapping in F-250 spacers.

    Had Sam issue when I went from my 2500HD to a 3500 HD. Was worried about it but after all said and done. Hitch installed, hook 5er up. Had 5.5" of clearance.

    When I traded my F150 with SuperSprings for an F350, the nose of the fiver was 3" higher with the Reese 16K and the "picture frame" adapter for the puck system. With the longer (6'5" vs 5'7") bed, I didn't need the Sidewinder for clearing the cab, so I locked it out and raised it 2" to the top holes. Still nose high and I found my Dexter EZ-Flex upgrade had lowered the fiver and was allowing the tires to hit the chassis. This was while traveling cross country, so I scheduled a visit to the MorRyde factory in Elkhart, IN, had the MorRyde pinbox (lowered nose 1") and CRE 3000 equalizers (raised fiver a little) installed. Now the fiver is almost level and rides much better.
    Before doing anything with your hitch, take measurements. I had planned to swap the Reese 16K and adapter with a B&W puck hitch. I measured the Reese at 16 1/4" from floor to plate. The lowest B&W position was 16 3/4" so I saved $950.

I currently tow a Grand Design 303 RLS with a 2014 F250 Crew Cab Diesel 4x4. The truck squats with the pin loaded and I added air bags to level it out. The ground to bed height rail height unloaded is 56.5\"+/-, while the ground to overhang level on the 5er is 59\". After using the bags, I'll level out and have about 8\" between 5ver and top of bed.

Well, the truck is now a lemon and I have the opportunity to step up to a 2015 F350 Crew Cab Diesel FX4. The unloaded ground to bed height measurement is 59+/- inches. With all else being the same, the 5ver unhooked and level, and the truck unloaded are pretty much identical heights from the ground.

I currently use a 16kw husky slider with aftermarket bed rails. The head is mounted at its lowest setting. I'd love the hitch and would continue to use it but would after go use the Reese 30156 adapter since the F350 is factory prepped. How much will the F350 squat with +/- 2200# of pin weight?

Will the combo still work, or do I stay with a 250? We will upgrade one day to a full size 5er, but it's only 8 months old. If I get the one ton now, I'll be prepared.

4x4 trucks sit higher than 2 wheel drives by a fair bit. So if you don't want to raise the trailer don't buy another 4x4 as the new 4x4s are simply too high. I had to raise my new mobile suite 2 inches and 3 may have been better but everyone was concerned about the overall height and the steps. The trailer manufacturers I blame for not keeping in tune with the truck manufacturers. I can't believe you guys dug this thread up! I did go into an F350. I also got the 5er raised approx. 3.5 inches to give me a perfectly level ride with 8\" of clearance using a B@W Companion with the factory puck system. The new truck is awesome. I am very glad I went into the 1ton and putting the subframe lift on the 5er was no biggie. I found a welding shop that specializes in subframe lifts among other things and they did the entire job for 700.00!

Yes you can evoke the lemon law, but as you stated be ready for a long process without a truck probably, if you can get a dealere that can get you out of it and into a better truck then that is what I would go with myself, also I would suggest going to the 350 and keep the air bags off the 250. I carry 2850# on my hitch and would not take for my bags. I currently use a 16kw husky slider with aftermarket bed rails. The head is mounted at its lowest setting. I'd love the hitch and would continue to use it but would after go use the Reese 30156 adapter since the F350 is factory prepped. How much will the F350 squat with +/- 2200# of pin weight?

Will the combo still work, or do I stay with a 250? We will upgrade one day to a full size 5er, but it's only 8 months old. If I get the one ton now, I'll be prepared.

With the longer (6'5\" vs 5'7\") bed, I didn't need the Sidewinder for clearing the cab, so I locked it out and raised it 2\" to the top holes. Still nose high and I found my Dexter EZ-Flex upgrade had lowered the fiver and was allowing the tires to hit the chassis. This was while traveling cross country, so I scheduled a visit to the MorRyde factory in Elkhart, IN, had the MorRyde pinbox (lowered nose 1\") and CRE 3000 equalizers (raised fiver a little) installed. Before doing anything with your hitch, take measurements. I had planned to swap the Reese 16K and adapter with a B&W puck hitch. I measured the Reese at 16 1/4\" from floor to plate.
