Making a patio if no cables

Our new toy hauler does not have the cables to convert the ramp to a patio. For those of you that don't have the cables and want to use the ramp as a patio, how do you do it?
  • Back when we had our Raptor I made my own. I looked over a couple other Toy Haulers and figured it was very doable on my own. Worked fine, second owner continued to use them he told me.

With a previous toy hauler, I used a cheap set of jack stands on the corners. They allowed a little adjustment for different terrains.

I used to set them on pieces of plywood so that they wouldn't sink on soft ground, and I also glued some pieces of carpet to the top of them to prevent scratching.

this makes more sense to me than hooking cables to areas not designed for this force.

  • If I was/wanted to do this, I would be to make my own cables, problem with this is making sure that the hardware and attachment points are strong enough for the job, and to hold the weight that could be on ramp door/patio.
