Are the maxis st tires any better than the rest. I have 230/80/16 tires now and I don't think I can go to the 235/85/16 due to clearance I have blown power King and marathons I am trying to find a good tire if there is one. I only have about 2 inches of clearance above these tires now.

Most folks here, myself included have had excellent results with Maxis. After a China bomb blowout I replaced all 4 on my TT with Maxxis and never looked back. I am on my second motorcycle trailer with them as well since a blowout on a single axle is probably going to be a disaster and might cost me my bike.They are only a few bucks more than the China junk bombs and ride/wear very well. IMHO: Given the substantial damage that is often done during any blowout buying Maxxis is a no brainer.As always.... Opinions and YMMV.:C

I have ran a lot of Max is. Used them on the farm and later on 5th wheels. However I only run LTs on my 5this. Excellent tires.

When the first Towmax tire blew on my fiver (exactly 1 year after delivery) I replaced all 4 with Maxxis M8008 ST235/80R16 LR-E tires (rated at 3420 pounds carrying capacity each). I am now in my 3rd year of running them as a full timer. Doing great.2 things are important - keep the air pressure where it should be (80 psi)and adhere to the ST tire 65 mph speed limit.

I'll just add my vote to the others. Went from Marathons to Maxxis and never looked back. I am also very careful about speed and pressure.
