After reading this thread I wonder why someone doesn't start a pole on the term (acronym) GVWR? Is it or is it not a limiting factor?
There are legal ways to increase your trailer's GVWR. You can make structural changes that, when approved, will increase the trailer's GVWR. Then you have to find a person (or company/dealer/manufacturer) certified to modify your trailer's certification label reflecting the changes and the amount of additional GVWR accomplished with the changes.
That's the right way. Most will live with what they have, or overload it, or bite the bullet and get a bigger trailer and restart the process all over again.
