  • Can you put on LTs? I've tried going to higher weight rated STs than needed but they still fly apart and I've had zero problems with running LTs to their max cap. STs seem to have a expiration date on them, at which time they grenade, and that date is anywhere from 4 minutes to 4 years. Craig
  • If Maxxis is what you want, insist on Les Schwab ordering them. I bet they will and then they will have to service them. We have never had a problem with Les Schwab no matter where we've used them. They stand behind whatever they sell. If the tire isn't recalled, they'll sell them.
  • These two online dealers have good prices on Maxxis. Our local Discount Tire dealer will match their pricing (including shipping fee). I've done it twice this year with Discount, a set for my 5th and a set for my utility trailer. They reduced the mounting cost too since I took the tires off the trailers myself and took them into Discount.

LS is full of it. They also told me they sell thousands of Carlsyle tires and never had a return. I then informed him I had returned five of them for failures.
They just push what they have. Tell them no way and have them order a set of Maxxiss.

You hit the nail on the head.

Here is one example of their quality control.

If you guessed missing grease seal you are a winner!

  • You need to tell us more about your trailer. Model, GVWR and GAWR, from your other post we only know that it is a 2010 Wildcat.

All tire dealers no matter which cheap ST tire they sell will state that you do not have problems with them, as it is you that is going to or has had problems with them.

LT tires are built to much higher standards and do much better.

  • If I'm not mistaken, you can find a "Dealer Locater" on the Maxxis website! Amazon prices aren't that bad for Maxxis either!

Here is some detailed info on Maxxis:

Personally, I'd stay away from LT tires as they're not manufactured for Trailer usage, etc.
