We went to the Tacoma WA TV show, there was a large amount of MFG there of 5th wheel, TT, Class C and Class A's along with the retro models as well ....
We went thought a ton of 5th wheels looking at the functions thought-out each and I have to tell you the pocket doors that were way to small. Cabinets that were over the toilets that even a small person would have hit the heads on sitting on such. Beds that even me being 5ft 6in tall my feet would have been hanging over.
There was three or four that had 2 year warranties, but reading the fine print they were limited warranties which for the most part were worthless. As well strongest in the industry sub-structure as well as the strongest roof on the market.
I believe most all had welded aluminum skeleton's, I know the Montana's and Kz 5th wheels both had aluminum skeleton's along with one other. We did not see any Grand Design, Solitude 5th wheels for some reason but I do not see how we would have missed them from all the walking we did :(
With all the people walking thought all these trailers you could tell the ones that would hold up and the one's that were already falling apart. Cabinet door hinges already failing, cheap doors, carpet coming up etc.
We looked at a Kz G384RLT, it was not cheaply built, the draws all have steel slides, floors felt solid without any give, cabinets made out of wood not cheap press-board and the over trailer had plenty of room to move around .....
I am not in the least taking away from the Grand Design, Solitude 5th wheels they are fine trailer and well built and if we would have see one with the floor plane we liked we may have bought one instead of the G384RLT...
I have always said that trailer talk to you when you sit in them, everyone has a different taste and that's why there are so many different MFG ot RV's, so one person my like a Grand Design, other may like Coachmen and other my swear by Jayco it's all in what you like
