Mobile Outfitter's Neverfail Whisper Disc

Last fall while stopping in at Lippert to buy a new air-spring to replace my sun rotted original on my TrailAir Pinbox (Frau Blücher was kind enough to make a "Bra" to protect the TrailAir from UV shortly there after)I also bought a new product of theirs called a Mobile Outfitter's Neverfail Whisper Disc and true to it's name it's dead quiet but this spring I noticed the plate wouldn't stay up tight to the upper plate of my TrailAir So I called Lippert and spoke to a lady who handles their after-market products and was told that they had several calls regarding this issue and I should simply tap around the hole's edge with a ball peen hammer and that'll do the trick and it did! just thought I'd pass this l'll tidbit around in case someone else was having the same problem!

I bought two nylon disks when I ordered my trailer five years ago. At least 30,000 miles since, on my third set of tires, and the disk looks like it'll last another dozen years or so. I don't remember where I put the 2nd disk; guess it doesn't really matter.

Same here except I am going on 12 years and a 2nd trailer with the first nylon disk. I don't have a clue where the spare is.

  • Use the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket or Hensley has a 1/8" disk that works great with the B&W. B&W has such thick jaws that with the 1/4" standard disk it is not as easy to see when the weight is off so the handle is easy to release.
  • FYI, I have used the ball peen hammer trick on my nylon disc with good results as well.
  • I have one and it is a real pain but I need it for my Trailer Saver . It is 3/16" thick, which I need for my hitch as the quarter inch ones are too thick. We are currently at our 11th stop on a swing around the eastern part of the country and it falls off every time I unhook. I have to get the hammer out after each stop. I found a 1/8" thick one that Reese makes but it is even worse.

I use it with a B&W without issue.

  • I may get one when my nylon disc wears out. Three years so far and based on the wear, I may need to replace it in 15 years or so.
  • I have one as well.....not a peep from the hitch and looks like new after 3,000 miles so far. Mine fit tight on the Morryde pinbox.
