- JRS___BExplorerI have a similar truck, but with the 6.7 Cummins. It pulls a 36 foot "very nose heavy" fiver with no problem. It's like the truck and trailer were made for each other.
But if I ever moved up that extra 3,000 pounds in trailer weight, my intent would be to not tow more more than 150 miles, and then park the trailer for six months.
Going down a smooth road at 55 mph is one thing. But bouncing through construction zones on the interstate, through lane shifts, surrounded by traffic all traveling above the speed limit, and staying out there on the road for 8 hours at a stretch is whole different matter.
If your intent is to both full time and stay on the road on a regular basis, then you probably should get more truck. - motorcycle_jackExplorer IIYou really wont know if you don't look at the weights of several units ( go here and ope the 2010 weight pdf to see what they may be) MS Weights/url]and get the capacities for your truck. Check GCVWR, RAWR and the 5th wheel towing capacity PLUS your tires carrying capacity. In my opinion you are going to be close or over on RAWR or tires.
Will the MS clear the cab on a short bed? Yes except for extreme turns and then the slider should work. - Jack_Diane_FreeExplorerI did toe a 36ft Mobile Suites with an F350 SRW V-10, 4:30 gears short box with no problems or modifications.
- MPI_MallardExplorerGod these people scare me!!
- tsetsafExplorer IIIYes with big caveats:
1. you will be exceeding pretty much every rating on your truck.
2. You would need to change your wheels for 19.5 commercial tires.
3. You will need airbags
4. check the weight rating of your slider hitch may be close.
If it were me I would not do it and my truck is lighter ie more payload than yours. - HedoTravelersExplorerAccording to his sig, he owns a 3500 short bed, single rear wheel.
- Cummins12V98Explorer IIIMy 36 SB3 Mobile Suites weighs at least 18K, the pin weight is 4,500#.
My truck is a Ram 3500 Dually HO and it handles the MS with ease.
If you try to haul the MS in question with your TV it will be handling you!
Sorry but if you value your life and your families you will look for a different RV or a different TV.
The MS units are nice we have lived in ours full time for 1.5 years and love it.
Just towed thru a nasty wind/sand storm from Palm Springs to Phoenix and the truck and RV were rock solid. - GemstoneExplorerI tow mine with a KW....I started with a 3500.

Gemstone - George_HExplorerFriend bought a mobile suite and brought it home with his SRW F350, immediatly went and traded for F450.

I dont think I would want to haul that weight of trailer with a 3/4 ton. If I'm not mistaken your rig should weigh in around 17k lbs. Now I can speak from experience, I was towning our rig with a truck just like yours. I put 1-ton springs and air bags and it was a handful. Traded mine in on a 12 3500 DRW long bed. What a big difference. Just my 0.02
