Modified sine wave power inverter ?

We have an older 3000 watt modified sine wave power inverter. Problem is my curling iron will turn on but does not heat up at all. Please I know some of you are saying don't use the iron!! Don't have blow and go hair.:) Anyway would a pure sine wave inverter make a difference? Thanks! Tara :)
  • If it's a quality PSW inverter, the load shouldn't detect any difference between the inverter output and shore AC power.

    Rusty
  • Some equipment will not work with MSW inverters and they can destroy some products.

The problem is likely the controls and not the heating element. Maybe try a different iron?

I've never heard of any issues with a PSW inverter.

I start the gen for heavy duty draws and my batteries thank me.
  • What is the ratingredients of the Iron?

Is the inverter shutting down? If so you may not have enough power going to the inverter. Possible loose or bad connection or to small wiring.
