Jerry, will get details and pics as soon as I have it in my hot little hands. :-) I =will= say that it's NOT one of the 2 on my short list, partly because I couldn't find an example of my #1 that was closer than about 1,000 miles away and when we went to look at my #2, we found that the kitchen storage was severely lacking, so SWMBO gave a categorical "NO". :-)

I agree with filrupmark on the trailer setup order list.

Fans would be done immediately, too.

Remember shocks on a trailer -if speced properly will have great control on suspension rebound. Rebound is what starts the repetitive harmonic cycles that cause all kinds of ride/ handling issues.

I think I would go with the pinbox first, shocks second... The JoyRider shock kits are fairly cheap, possibly a Christmas, or Chanukah present ??? :-)

I have 2-FF fans and 1-Maxair on my 5er and I prefer the Maxair cuz it's quieter and can work in rain. The Maxair is up from the stove and it makes the best range fan ever. One over the bed is great, too.
I had a 5er in the 90s w/o shocks and it rode lousy and bounced for a long time, at bumps. I didn't know at the time there were RV shock kits so I found 4 Monroe hd gas shocks that were meant for a pickup front end... they are shorter. I made my own brackets and those truck shocks did a MUCH better job than any RV shocks ever thought of. Tow your 5er for awhile and see what it needs. Craig

First you need to see if the ride is acceptable.
1. Level Fiver
2. Bilsteins on tow vehicle
3. Shocks on trailer.
4. Pin box
That is the order I would take .

I'll swim upstream here and say "pin box." The spring friction on the stiff, solid axle suspension on a standard fifth wheel dampens the bounce (which is what shocks do). Shocks will not "soften" the ride at all - that's a spring function. A dampened pin box, however, will make a big difference and make things much gentler on the truck, the trailer and you. I say this as someone who has towed with and without both a dampened pin box and shocks (now have MOR/ryde independent suspension on the trailer).
