We're ready to buy our first fifth wheel and are looking at Montana High Country and Open Range Roamer. I'd love to hear opinions re' comparisons of the two. Please and thank you!!
My brother has a 2004 Montana that has been lived in 6 months of each yr & 2 or 3 yrs was lived in full time. He is very neat and cleans & treats the roof twice a yr but it has the original rubber roof & has never had a leak. They had to replace the frig about 4 yrs ago & graphics about the same time; but have had zero issues with anything else. As someone else stated; they have been # 1 for many yrs.
We love our Open Range. It is a TT, not a 5er because of my shot knees. We have pulled it thousands of miles and no big problems. We did change the tires after one year but you can expect to do that with any new trailer with the crummy tires that are put on all of them. Highland Ridge RV is a very good company to deal with. Check out the owner's forum. Happy camping.
We have a Open Range and love it. We just got back from a rally in Indiana with 101 owners and Highland Ridge RV (their new company name) was just great and supportive!
But really my advice is to go on the owners forums for both companies and see what the owners are saying, their satisfaction level, and the issues people have ( and we all do!)
