Thought I made some progress today, but in the end . . . denied!
I had put the carb/governor spring on incorrectly when I first took the old carb off. So I fixed that and other than the gen starting very poorly, everything seemed to be working good. I turned on the AC1, AC2, micro and TV multiple times in random order. Gen took everything I could dish out. So I thought having the spring incorrect on the governor was the problem.
Starting was still rough though. Cranked and cranked, sputtered a bit and then started and was good.
Decided to test with some fresh gas - pulled the gas line and put it in a jar of fresh gas. Ran for about 30 min that way, no change. Starting still very rough.
Reconnected the gas line and let it sit for a while. Starting still rough, but now it stuttered and stalled out when putting just 1 AC on.
So I'm back to square 1. Got a code 14 this time instead of 13.
I'm wondering if the valves are out of tolerance and if that could be causing the poor starting and stall when applying load.
