With a 4.3 rear end, you'll have no issues in towing that weight, or more. You just won't tow it real fast. :B With a gasser, don't be afraid to wind it up on hills. RPM = HP on modern gassers, so you =have= to get the RPM up to make power. Too many people are afraid to rev their engine, so run in a higher gear or slower speed, then b!tch about lack of towing capacity or mileage. My dad proved to me that running even +600 RPM over me by choosing a lower gear, would gain us mileage, on the order of 1-2 mpg. (Had a Chevy 3/4 with 350, Turbo 400 with GearVendor overdrive.)
