Not all Aftermarket bumpers work

I have been lookin for a front bumper for my 2025 RAM 5500 since I bought it last June. I found bunches for anythin up to the 3500 but nuthin much after that. I did happen to find I think it was 2 different ones that were advertised that would fit includin the 3500. I know by experience that wont work. One that I did find specificly for 4500-5500 but the cost was way outta my wallets range. I purchased a really nice RanchHand front bumper a few years ago for the F-250 I had. I do realize times change and the sizes and styles change over time. But that was the best bumper I ever had. It weighed well over 400 #s. I even made some calls and sent emails out to bumper manufactures, askin why they arent made for my new truck. Most said there is no market for them. You'd think that with a truck that heavy everone wud wanna change the cheap lookin light weight OEM bumper out as soon as possible. I cant possibly be the only one out there with the same frustration goin on. I'd build my own if I hada place that I cud work  on it, and the metal to make what I want. Guess I'll keep lookin till I either find somethin or buy a different truck.

  • There is something to be said for a thick non movable front bumper. There is also something to be said for the lighter weight bumper too.
Unless you are putting a winch on the front, not sure one really needs a big HD front bumper. I do agree, some of the bumpers are not the best looking designs. Not sure I would want to change the bumpers as they are a safety item for both the hitter, and the Hittee! They have been designed to generally speaking to help keep both sides from injuries vs a solid steel bar.

Good analysis. But the whole first post is gibberish. Who joins a defunct old rv forum to blather about bumpers while talking like a 20 year old redneck who just got his second paycheck from the oil patch?

  • I know Buckstop makes bumpers for the chassis cab trucks. 3500 series bumpers physically fit but are not wide enough for the wide-track front axles. You might check with your local emergency responders to find out who does their equipment upfits.
