Do yourself a favor and get a hitch with equal or more capacity than the truck is rated for. Larger trailers seem to just happen.
Example. Our truck is rated to tow up to 17,050 pounds. We installed hitch rated to 18k. And guess what we are now looking at trailers with 16 to 16.5k GVWR.
