My towing considerations...do they work?

OK, finally decided on the truck for hauling my new 5th wheel, 2005 Silverado 3500 with Duramax, auto tranny, single rears. Now planning on having the Reese 33047 16K hitch installed and getting the JT Strongarm kit for the RV (in my sig and profile).

Here's the specs
Hitch 1279
Gross 10079
Dry 7490
Cargo 2530
Fresh water 60
Gray water 35
Black water 35

Is this enough?

I don't want to divert your topic but, I just towed with my B&W Patriot today and it was much smoother and quieter than my Reese 16K, manual slider, that I just sold. I paid $750. A non-slider would be about $100 cheaper. There are many good hitches out there. I would wait on the strong arms and see if you need them. I've never had them but our 5th wheel's have always seemed fairly steady without any additions.

2nd post with thumbs up for the Patriot hitch. In checking, both the reese and the 3200 Patriot have mostly good ratings, but the smoother and quieter issue is something I'd not considered. I will now, thanks for the input.

do yourself a big fav get a b&w patriot hitch instead you will enjoy it much better

This would be my choice for quality and price. Look at several brands before deciding, unless you have decided on the Reese only.

That is plenty of truck. Those trailer specs fit a 3/4T well, but a 1T even better. Yes, it is enough.

Your choice of hitch is a good one.

Personally, I would skip the JT strongarms, at least until I had camped a while in the trailer. My trailer, similar to yours, does not wiggle enough to even notice. Add them later if you feel the need.

Sounds like a good idea on the strongarms. Can be added later I guess.

Is this a long bed truck? That Reese doesn't look like a slider. Model # 30047?

    Yep, long bed.
