It is unclear if you are buying from dealers or individual sellers. Just like cars, dealers have no problem pricing these things WAY over book. Frankly, I have no clue why people buy from them, it is not like they give you anything for the extra cost (although many people "think" they get some implicit warranty). It is quite possible that individual sellers are underwater on trailer that new if they took out a loan, or bought from an overpriced dealer.
Do yourself a favor, configure a similar new trailer on RV Direct or RV One with very similar features, that will give you a rough idea of what the original purchase price was (or should have been). Then start deducting for age/condition.
