I would just do the fuel tank as you may not want that in your truck when its not needed. personally I would only get one if I was going to do a couple trips where I was not going to be near any fuel stations like so far back into some logging roads that I would be risking running out before I see another station, for once I would just bring a couple 5 gallon cans, whatever I figure with a margin of safety, like 5 to 10 gallons more than I need.
If I was doing several trips like that I would get up to a 90 gallon with a built in pump, but would not fill it until I am close to where I will need it,,,, what I am getting at is there is no sense in hauling an extra 5, 6 or 7 hundred pounds to only knock down your MPG even more.
