Need help narrowing choices.

We looked at the Grand Design 350M which we liked. But.....
I would like a couple other choices, I am not beyond buying used either. But when I try searching around all the different units are like alphabet soup and it gets confusing. So I would like to narrow down the field. One criteria would be a quality manufacture and under 40ft. If you have specific models that would be worth looking at feel free to shout em out. I want to narrow down the field to a couple mfgs this way I can look used as well. Thanks for any help you can provide.
  • I thought Dutchmen was a quality manufacturer until I bought my Voltage. They seem to be no better than any other manufacturer in quality, which is average to below average. If a person isn't handy at fixing things on his own and must rely on a repair facility to fix minor items then I would suggest that person not purchase an RV trailer or you'll never be able to go camping. With that aside I would suggest finding the floorplan you can't live without and not to worry about who made it.
  • +1. Most of the rigs are built to similar specs and with similar components. If you are buying new, perhaps manufacturer matters for after the sale. In that case, Grand Design has been superb to us. But, I cannot say that build quality is any better with them than other brands as you hear similar complaints and problems across all brands. I'd also really focus on finding a floor plan you love, then make sure whether new or used you do a real thorough PDI and check out all systems/functions before you commit.

    X2

We've used the heck out of our GD 350M and love it. We liked a lot of other brands as well but wanted to be dual axle and around 38 Ft. Go with floor plan you like and items your must have and get it.
  • I'd start with Jayco and peruse their models. They have been around forever so they must be doing something right. I'm big on layout so try to spend as much time as possible in each rig to envision how it would work for your lifestyle.
I need a rig that can be used at Rest Areas without opening slides; eg the potti, galley and refer.
