Need Jayco Fifth Wheel Feedback

In the process of purchasing my forth Jayco product, a fiver, this time. All have been great products as long as you do routine maintenance. The only problems I had was with a small dealer of theirs but got that fixed by going strait to the factory. I have been very impressed with the the factory reps. They have always been available to discuss any issues or aspects of their product. I cant say this about some other manufacturers. In fact on several occasions I had them on the phone for extended periods of time discussing things I wanted and not one time did I feel like I was pushed or rushed off. In my opinion a great group of people that backs up their product. Obviously, not hesitant in purchasing another product and would recommend them.

I've had a 2010 Jayco 31.5 RLDS 5vr since new and have had zero, zilch, nada in the way of issues with it. I have found a few very small things kind of annoying but absolutely nothing to complain about. If I don't buy mid 80's model Newell motor coach for my next one it will absolutely be another Jayco. I've had my eye on a front living unit they build that I really like. I often think to myself how grateful I am that I don't have problems with the multitude of issues you see posted on this forum.

We have a 2010 321RLTS Jayco 5er and has been a very good 5er.one issue with a slide motor but was fixed thank you 2year warranty.

We have a 2012 HT 26.5 RLS and enjoy it very much. Had a problem with the cap cracking the first year, but Jayco stepped up and replaced it with no comments. I cracked it the next year and replaced it with insurance and am a bit concerned because the cap appears to be fading somewhat. Had a couple of small things wrong that were fixed by the dealer under warranty and that's it. I put a hitch on the rear, attached to the frame which was reinforced towards the axles and have towed our boat for five seasons with no problems. We really have enjoyed it a great deal and there is more than enough storage space for kitchen stuff. True, there is only "one" drawer "in" the kitchen, but right around the corner are two deep drawers where we keep most of our heavy cooking utensils and other kitchen stuff. Also, we do keep some stuff under the sink with the garbage can. Only thing I will change one day is the pantry. It has only one divider and both areas are very tall, too tall in my opinion. I will, some day, put in sliding drawers of some type so that I can more easily access the stuff in the pantry and, as well, stack stuff up without the worry of it falling over when the trailer is moving. Also, the one poster above is correct about the bedroom. The literature says there is 6'2" of head space, but that really is only at the end of the bed. It's not really a big deal, unless a person is unable to bend just a little when going to the head of the bed. As for clothes storage, there is a little closet on either side of the bed and a four-door closet on the bedroom slide-out that holds a great deal of stuff. When we go fishing for a week, I get all the clothes I need in the closet on buy side of the bed, including my shoes, etc. We took a 20-day trip two springs ago and there was more than enough storage. If you find that the 26.5 RLS is a little too big for you, Jayco also makes a 23.5 rear kitchen that might be good for you. I don't believe that Jaycos are more prone to bad workmanship than any other brand based on the comments that I see on this site about other brands. Everybody can get a lemon at one time or another. This was an issue that plagued many manufacturers since they buy the front caps. The company that made the caps had a problem with the UV protection that was used and thus the fading.

I looked at a used 2013 Jayco 26.5 before finding my Arctic Fox. A few things about it made me decide to move on ...

I couldn't stand up in the bedroom next to the bed (and I'm only 5'9"). I could stand at the foot of the bed, but it's a step up to get to the side of the bed. That wasn't apparent from the sales literature.

There was only 1 drawer inside the kitchen and it was under the fold-up counter extension at the end of the kitchen peninsula (a little inconvenient if it's folded up). I believe there was another drawer on the other side of the kitchen peninsula (presumably for pots and pans) but technically not inside the kitchen.

The dark colored gelcoat on the front cap was noticeably faded for a 3 year old unit. To make it look right, it would probably require painting.

Other than those things, it appeared to be a well constructed trailer.

We've owned 3 Jaycos - a 1978 Cardinal pop-up (our first RV), a 1996 Designer 3030RKSS and a 2000 Designer XL 3610RLTS. All were good, solid RVs that gave us years of enjoyable service. Any problems we had with 3rd party items (e.g., Todd Engineering power converters, Norcold cooling unit) were handled quickly by Jayco's customer service group, no questions asked. Our experience is that Jayco builds a decent quality unit at their respective price points - if Jayco had offered something comparable to our previous 2004 DRV Mobile Suites 36RE3 when we bought it, we might still be Jayco owners today.

I have a 2010 Jayco 25BHS, a TT with bunks. We have not had any real problems and its holding up fine against my family of four. I would happily buy another Jayco, and plan to when its time.

I am also assuming if the rig was services properly that most bugs and issues should have been sorted out by now

Also the unit seems MINT from the pictures used for two small trips and then stored and the price is more than fare BUT its been listed for two months. At this time of year it should have been gobbled up already so I'm scratching my head a bit as to why or what might be hidden.
