Held out of all these tire threads long enough...geez!!!!
As long as you understand the limits of your tires there is nothing wrong with a good ST tire. Funny how the LT proponent's don't talk about the failures, and they do blow, but only chime in and follow the crowd...even if they have no experience with ST's.
I am not as closed minded as some but we have had no problems with our ST's on our Pinnacle which we are loaded and traveling at just over 15k, rig gross is 15,900, and 12k miles on them.. They look just fine after a year and a half traveling the West...mountains, heat....you get the drift.
We monitor tire pressure and condition every time we leave for our next destination. Speed is another thing and we have no need to exceed the limits...in this case 65mph but we run at 60mph. For those that need to go 70+ (there are oher issues for those speeds) have at it but we are retired and enjoying the life and our travels.
So good for you LT folks but there is no reason I know of to bash the ST's as long as you know their limits and abide by them.
Oh ya, our ST's are GYR Marathon's and I'd buy them again.
