Only way to correctly do it by the numbers is to get weights.
Take truck to a CAT scale, weigh it like you are ready to hook up to the trailer.
Then do simple math.
GVWR-truck weight=how much pin/tongue weight you can carry.
GCWR-truck weight=how much total trailer weight you can tow.
IMO, you need a dually.
My trailer is 17,000lbs loaded with 3400lbs of pin weight and I am at 27,000lbs GCW.
