Nev-r-lube axles on my Alpenlite

Lots of wheel bearing posts but few addressing the bearings I have.

At 5 years, I have a total of 1,260 miles on my 5'ver. That would be 1,200 from the Western RV in Yakima to San Clemente and another 60 miles over 5 years of camping. (Seriously, I am 3 miles from storage to the beach where I camp. Twice a year which is 12 miles a year.)

So, do I need to do anything at this pace? Maybe spin the wheels listening for odd sounds?
  • Newer lube is not in oil but to bearings in pre sealed cartridge, and it is recommended to check for excessive play or grease leaking out every year, not service bel but kneads to be replaced if out of spech, go to Dexter and check out ther site, you jack up trailer and grip top and bottom of tier and check for movement.

  • The nev-r-lube axles on the aplenlite are just what they say. I would try to maybe drive around a little more than you are now. The nev-r-lube axles are sealed and can't be serviced, I believe the bearings are in a liquid oil so they get lubed when the wheel turns.
  • Alhough I use a lube gun on my wheel lube fittings I do periodically pull a wheel and check brake linings and lube condition of bearings. Even after over 8 years never found a dry bearing. Re-packed when I replaced brake pads.
