new 2015 3160 EL Big Horn

We took delivery yesterday on this 5er. And have barely begun to figure everything out. With all that it has, I'm still in disbelief that it had no interior radio. I understand that must camp grounds having WiFi, the blue tooth technology works well to stream from a mobile phone, however, most of our camping in in a secluded family site in the hills of the Finger Lakes. Our previous camper, a toy hauler, had an interior radio, so, day 1, I'm missing the radio.

Any suggestions on the "lack of an interior radio? "

Any other info we could find valuable for the new Big Horn?

BTW, what brought us to this unit was the large refer.
  • David I have the same camper and it doesn't have radio inside. I ended up buying the same radio as outside mounted it in cabinet above TV. Speaker I cut into the bottom of that cabinet. I just used a car antenna and payed it in the back of the cabinet and it works pretty good. Good luck

  • Thank you all for the responses, it was a hectic half week with our new camper. The Blu Ray player is a Samsung, as is the sound bar and TV. I did not find an option for fm radio on any of the menus, but I'm not done yet. We did not pull the new one home, however will be there againin two weeks.

Outside in the storage compartment there is a Jensen car type receiver with exterior speakers. So that's a nice feature.

One of our window shades is short, will contact the dealer today.

    Thanks again everyone.
  • GOPACKGO is completely correct. On our 2014 Bighorn I could not find the radio. Finally turned on the DVD receiver and cycled thru the inputs section. Presto...radio found and it works great.

Good luck and enjoy your new RV.

  • My 2014 Bighorn has the radio as part of the Sony Home Theater System which is normally activated when you turn on the main TV in the living room. You can turn this system on independently and cycle thru the choices until you find the radio (AM and FM).

I also have a separate outside radio but that's not the one you're looking for.

Our Big country has the Jensen dvd/cd/am/fm radio....you just have to cycle thru the options.....does your BH have the outside speakers? If so then it has a radio....

  • Are you sure. Doesn't the unit with the Blue Tooth have a basic radio function somewhere? It's got a fireplace and a ton of other beautiful up grades.
    Hard to believe.

I'm sure that when you bought the trailer, you did more than just walk around the outside and look at the graphics. I'd give the dealer a call.
  • Looking at the brochure it says it does.
