New 5ver Questions
We are really interested in getting a new 5'ver this year. We currently have a 2K8 Komfort 241fs that has on a 13.5 BTU AC unit. This simply doesn't cut it when outside temps go over a 100 degrees.
We are in the market for a new 5ver (Fox Mountain). We have lots of questions. The 1st of which concerns with length and (weight of the new rig). Our RV parking is VERY tight. We park ours in a shelter at one end of a "T". We have to pull into the opposite end of the "T" and back in. It takes 4 or 5 tries (when I'm not tired) to get the rear end of the rig over enough to slide in. The opposite "T" is just not far (long) enough to allow me to straighten out to make it in in one swoop. How significant is the addition of 2.5 feet to the length of the new rig to doing this? Would it be doable?
The other issue is the pin weight. We have about 1600 lbs (legally) of available pin weight in our 3/4 ton diesel with a short bed (made even shorter with a 30 gallon fuel tank). The new Fox Mountains have listed pin weights of 1375 and 1500, to so we should be fine. However, what is the "loaded" pin weight? Does anyone have practical experience? Does the pin weight go up or down when "loaded"?
Thanks for reading this complicated post.
