A healthy battery shouldn't be totally dead after two weeks of sitting , even with running your slides a couple times. But since you left your 12v system on it's a fair bet that something drew the batteries down.
Batteries will discharge over time though - and it's not good to leave them in any state of discharge regularly. I'd strongly recommend you take it home with you when leaving it in storage and keep it on a good maintenance charger (like a battery tender). Batteries like to remain in a fully charged state - and if it's at home with you, you can't possibly forget to turn it off back at the storage yard.
