- et2ExplorerI said months ago in a similar post that "Thor" building a ( by name which they purchased) Carriage would be nothing more than Lipstick on a pig, based on the experiences I've had with Thor products in the past. I was told by some I was nuts and that Thor was bringing the "Carriage" back. I'll say it again, it'll never happen in the context of it being a Carriage equivalent.
Reading many of the posts here just validates the issues this company has. It's too big and is more or less the Walmart of RV manufactures. Looks good on the outside.
The days of quality built RV's by smaller companies like Carriage, Sunnybrook, etc. are almost gone. You want a good one you will pay for it. Many of the large manufactures just put in eye grabbing interiors and features that sell. The problem is everything there built on and with are mostly junk. Employee's can be hired a dime a dozen and quality does not exist. - Atom_AntExplorer

Mine's been great. Sure fun to use and enjoy. Heading out in it now.gordypig wrote:
Crossroads has no quality control. NONE. I have two customers in the same campground that had to return their units to the factory for new replacements, they were made the same month
I have to agree.
More complaints on the redwood forum. Water leaks, walls coming apart and another redwood owner looking into the lemon law. Seems like these problems are like a Piss Ant, just get rid of it.

Lillyputz - Atom_AntExplorerAn interesting statement from another post: What are the Top 5 Brands for 5th wheels?

All RV'ers on this forum have invested money from a few thousand to many thousands and obviously we chose the ones we wanted or could afford at the time. There will always be new models and new companies coming along for the remainder of our adventures in rving. No one person should disparage anyone's choice of RV. Encourage and congratulate those that have joined our ranks or expect to in the future. Learn as we go along, change out to whatever type RV we think suits our needs and continue to use this forum as an information gathering place, not a place to be spiteful. Nuf said on my part! Happy RVing! - Dave___GinnyExplorer

Even, one of the redwood forum monitors has acknowledged, on the forum, the extreme poor quality control and warrenty issues with redwood.

This is a little surprising and VERY untrue....There are only 2 moderators on the Redwood Forum and I'm one of them. I haven't seen where Bruce (the other moderator) or myself have said that Redwood has had poor quality.
What you have read if you're were on the forum was that Redwood has always been easy to work with on the warranty issues. I'm still seeking the perfect RV. - Atom_AntExplorer

Lillyputz - mwebber78ExplorerThe telling part was the "12-point promise", essentially a market gimmick to excuse halving the warranty and eliminating their 5-year structural warranty. As far as a new Carriage, Lifestyles brand is the nearest you'll ever find. A Thor product with a "Carriage" logo will use minimalist framing, axles, tires, and quality - something that Carriage stood against.

Where they Rushmore's by chance or one of the other lines they make? The Rushmore line has had more than their share of issues. I know of at least one that was replaced because the landing gear collapsed and bent the frame. It was installed wrong at the factory.
It a shame, went from being a known as a good 5'ver (Seville) to having alot of problems! I was just browsing in our winter Texas home and we told the saleman that we were not buying but he wanted to come with us anyway. His best 5'vers were the Rushmore and Lifestyles he told us that we would wise not to purchase any Rushmore units said nothing but problems! - rmalik1Explorer

That's okay. Carriage by Redwood is not a Carriage. Folks who bought a Carriage did so because everything was in-house, including the frame. Check our Lifestyle RV. They are making the closest 5er to a Carriage you can get.
