That price differential is pretty typical in comparing the high volume/low margin dealers against local dealers. We saved tens of thousands of dollars by purchasing this Mobile Suites at RVs for Less in Knoxville, TN versus a Texas dealer who shall remain nameless.... Certainly enough to pay us to drive from the Houston area to Knoxville to pick it up, especially since we had a vacation planned in the Great Smoky Mountains anyway.
As far as dealer pricing, I don't know if the high volume dealers get a deeper volume discount from the manufacturers than the local dealers or not.
One thing to consider is the availability of service. It's a non-issue for us because I deal with the minor issues myself, getting parts directly from DRV as required. If anything should arise that I can't handle during the warranty period, DRV is good about authorizing service at independent RV repair facilities who, unlike most dealers, live and die by the quality of service they provide.
