New Remote for Slides...

We have gotten a replacement remote for our 5'er (Montana) due to loss of the original, tried it but didn't work called Keystone and was told it has to be "programed" by a dealer. The closest dealer is 2-1/2 hours away. I called the mfg. of the remote, they send me a link on how to program, was an entirely different unit. The unit we have has a 3 button remote not a 9 button. Any help would be appreciated...

  • Our new 2017 Kz Gold G384FLT has an AP that lowers/rises landing gear, opens/closes slides, opens an closes awnings ETC :C
  • My 3 slides, front jacks, step lights and inside over the door light and awning all work remotely with 2 fobs. My rig is a 2009 model.
  • I have had Montana's for over 12 years and have never seen a 3 button remote. But you learn something new each day. You might be better off asking this question on the Montana Owners Club forum a free to join board with over 10,000 Montana owners.

I suspect the programming instructions for your device wouldn't vary too much from the 9 button model. The "brain" unit is in the front storage compartment. It has the "Program" button which (as I recall) you hold to program the remote. You might give that a try.
  • Don't know how to help you, except suggest to take to your closest dealership.

I don't think I've ever heard of slides operating with a remote. Kind of scary if you ask me.

At home, we've had the television come on and off by itself, and channels changed. Different televisions of course. We once had a garage door that automatically opened or shut on its own. We've had the panic alarm go off on car once when absolutely no one was around. We had a fan in one house that would turn on by itself.

What did all of these things have in common? They all had a remote. We figure, somehow, they were getting a signal from somewhere, just the right frequency to operate a specific function.

I can just see it! You're all snugged in bed at night when all of a sudden the slide your bed is on starts retracting. Squish, squash! There goes the wife. She just slid under the vanity!

Technology! It's wonderful when it works right, it's He!! when it don't!
